Silent Syllable

Privacy

Silent Syllable has no server. There is nothing for us to collect, because nothing you do reaches us.

Your camera

The camera starts only when you press the button on a practice screen, and stops when you leave it. Frames are read directly in the browser by a hand-tracking model that ships with the app. Video is never recorded, never written to storage, and never sent anywhere.

Visit counts

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, so we know roughly how many people use the app and which languages are worth translating next. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. What it records is the page, the referring site, and a coarse country and device type — never who you are, and never anything you do inside the app.

Your practice, your progress and your camera are not part of that and never reach us.

What is stored, and where

Your progress, badges, streak and settings are kept in this browser's local storage on this device. They are not synced or backed up. Clearing site data — or the “Reset progress” button in Settings — removes them permanently.

What we do not do

Notifications

If you turn on practice reminders, the browser asks for permission and the reminder is scheduled on your device. No push service is involved and no identifier is created.

Children

Silent Syllable is suitable for children. Because it collects nothing, there is no personal information to disclose, sell or share.

Permissions the app asks for

Changes

If this ever changes, the change will appear on this page before it takes effect.
